Paradox Interactive’s PDXCON REMIXED

Paradox Interactive, a world-leading PC games publisher, collaborated with our team to find an innovative solution to replace its annual game launch convention, which was a crucial event for engaging its community.

Navigating Pandemic

Due to the pandemic, Paradox Interactive, the Swedish strategy game studio, could not organize its annual game launch convention in the same way. The challenge for us was huge, and we rose to it. We decided to create a hybrid event that would gather all worldwide communities during a non-stop online 3-day event.

The Perfect Match

We transformed the convention into a Twitch broadcast supported by Unreal Engine, creating a life-sized game experience for viewers. We called this edition “PDXCON Remixed”, designing an imaginary universe where all Paradox games have collided.

In Sweden, we built a virtual studio where famous developers and Paradox’s CEO released the news to their fans, amid extraordinary virtual environments, as if they were immersed into the favourite universes of their fans.

Online viewers could interact in real-time via Twitch Interactions, a customized gamified extension with online mini-games, allowing them to win exclusive rewards while following the most anticipated announcements.

Paradox Interactive also leveraged social media and organic impressions to amplify the reach of its event, creating an immersive, engaging, and community-driven campaign that effectively engaged fans and generated excitement for its convention launch.

Successful Launch. Significant Buzz.

As a result of the immersive experiences and social media amplification, the Twitch broadcast resulted in 1.1 million interactions and 8 billion organic impressions, demonstrating the high levels of fan engagement.
